Hydrodynamics of single bubble rising through water column using volume of fluid (VOF) method

The importance of air bubble dynamics in liquid is some phenomena like chemical and biochemical processes refinery units. 2D Volume Fluid (VOF) method together with the CFD technique were employed for simulating. dynamic meshing used to simulate hydrodynamics rising water column via User Defined Function (UDF) code C++ environment was developed evaluate through column. a stagnant has been considered influence dimension, size, aspect ratio on velocity characterized investigated. obtained results showed that increase size its shapes transformed from ellipsoidalto-ellipsoidal cap shape. bubbles affected by diameter. It observed moving toward top oscillation all cases. A good agreement between predicted simulation literature.
